" The science of evolution " "As to Toumai sapiens

What is evolution? What has happened since Darwin? Toumai is ...?

Deciphering the history of life is the gamble that had set ambitious Charles Darwin, 150 years ago.
What about today's theory of evolution?
current research are numerous and involve a multitude of disciplines.
Their goal deepen our understanding of the mechanisms that shape living beings: natural selection lottery of heredity, genetic mutations.
In the search for human origins, the new is growing old: Orrorin, Toumai are twice as old as Lucy, the famous Australopithecus ...
On our family tree, parts assemble the puzzle bit by bit with a hope may be unrealistic to go back to the point of separation with our cousins, chimpanzees and bonobos.
Discover the science that di erent study the history of life and the latest findings on the evolution of man.
Skeletons, models and videos illustrate your findings at the exhibition. An excavation site will allow you to put yourself in the shoes of an archaeologist in search of remnants of a habitat Paleolithic.

Rehabilitation of contaminated soil

Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the library Morcenx (20:30)
polluted industrial sites are becoming more numerous in France and Europe. They pose heavy economic problems, health and property. However, unlike the other two sectors: water and air, the soil is still protected by any statute or by any European text. Pending the possible adoption of an EU directive currently under discussion, France, despite the scandal of the case Metaleurop, do not fully cleans up its sites, but tolerates up to leave a pollution levels "Acceptable". The questions posed challenge all players: What obligations for industrial pollution control? What residual risks for future generations? What cost will likely to Commons? What means of action and for mayors, local residents and future residents?

The Mint!

The mint tea (Arabic: شاي بالنعناع (chai n'anā bil), or more commonly الأتاي ( Does tai) in dialect) is the traditional drink of the Maghreb countries. This tea is achieved by the infusion of green tea leaves (such as gunpowder) and Spearmint (type Nanah), accompanied by lots of sugar. It is served hot.

native of Morocco, it has spread throughout the Maghreb. It is not only drunk with meals, but throughout the day. It is, more specifically, the drink of hospitality. Unlike the kitchen, made by women, the tea is traditionally man's business: prepared by the head of the family, it is served to the guest, and not refuse. We ready to drink a lot of virtues, including tonic and digestive.

Its preparation and its taste varies according to regions and countries of the Maghreb. It is, thus, sweeter in the north than in southern Morocco. In some areas, we add some pine nuts. Mint is normally Nanah (mint nana common in North Africa).

The trial of Galileo

Friday, April 3 21:00 and Entropy (Pau)
More than historic trial of Galileo in 1633, under the pontificate of one who had been his friend, what we kept saying over centuries of trial has largely facilitated our cultural imagination.
The debate focuses on the relationship between science and religion, scientific thought and philosophy, but also and perhaps especially on networks that do opinions on science as a vocation and what it means Baroque Science. I intend to give some "pictures" short on how we said the trial until today to let the discussion take paths that are most interesting.

Meeting organized in partnership with the germ in the context of the International Year of Astronomy. It will be moderated by Jean Dhombres , director of studies at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales.

In Atlantic to the Mediterranean, the Pyrenees form a natural barrier difficult to overcome.
A must for land traffic of goods and passengers between the peninsula and the rest of the continent, the Pyrenees are at heart of major European traffic corridors.
For 20 years, traffic has exploded and the number of trucks increased by over 400%.
Today are nearly 20,000 trucks and over 110 000 light vehicles per day crossing the Pyrenees is a truck and three cars every 2 seconds. This increase
Will it continue? What are the causes? How about it? This is the purpose of the exhibition "Crossing the Pyrenees tomorrow."

Organized around seven areas with different aspects of this important issue of sustainable development, the exhibition "Crossing the Pyrenees tomorrow" allows visitors to better understand issues relating to the development of Trans-carriage, discover the différents scénarios d’aménagement envisagés et leurs impacts à l’horizon 2020. Elle se propose aussi de donner aux citoyens les éléments d’une réflexion indispensable pour participer aux côtés des experts et des pouvoirs publics au débat public autour de ces questions.

the Pyrenees tomorrow Tomorrow, my city

Samedi 21 mars à 10h
Table-ronde organisée par la bibliothèque municipale d’Anglet en partenariat avec Lacq Odyssée, CCSTI des Pays de l’Adour.

Au moment où les crises des matières premières et de l’énergie se précisent, où les enjeux environnementaux ne peuvent plus être ignored, where the quality of life and services that a city has to offer play an increasingly important for everyone, whatever may be the city of tomorrow?
How to achieve it for everyone, from richer to poorer?
Is it unrealistic to expect to avoid the pitfalls of past and present? Exclusion, urban violence, ghettos, gated communities, neighborhoods abandoned ....

It is thus address both the issues of climate change (transport, lifestyle, construction), those of the reorganization of urban space and those of eco-construction through this prism: A city

ecological, economical, where life is good for all, is this possible and at what price?

Three speakers will share on this issue and will present challenges for the city of tomorrow. These debates will be moderated by Andrew Etchelecou , Professor of Geography, Head of Mission for Sustainable Development in UPPA.

François Marty, President of the association of insertion "Chênelet" "Building green homes proposed social housing and integration projects"

Jean-Stéphane Devisse , Coordinator of the mission "climate change" to WWF, France: "The city's approach to climate change (transport, lifestyles, construction)"

His speech will be a description of the economic mechanisms that result in an increase in flow and increased the modal share of road, with a two-headed conclusion:
1) What are the parameters that could influence trends in
transportation,
2) How can the public debate the issue of transport, and think collectively. This second part will draw on the recent public debate on the draft CNDP RFF LGV Bordeaux-Irun, and dealing with the issue of freight for all modes and all routes.
