More than historic trial of Galileo in 1633, under the pontificate of one who had been his friend, what we kept saying over centuries of trial has largely facilitated our cultural imagination. The debate focuses on the relationship between science and religion, scientific thought and philosophy, but also and perhaps especially on networks that do opinions on science as a vocation and what it means Baroque Science. I intend to give some "pictures" short on how we said the trial until today to let the discussion take paths that are most interesting.
Meeting organized in partnership with the germ in the context of the International Year of Astronomy. It will be moderated by Jean Dhombres , director of studies at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales.
